What the law asks you to prove

  • At least three months of employment or professional relationship before applying
  • The foreign company or group has operated continuously for at least one year
  • A recognised qualification or at least three years of relevant professional experience

  • Apply through the competent Spanish consulate abroad for a visa of up to one year
  • Apply from Spain while legally present for residence of up to three years
  • Renewal is available in two-year periods while the original conditions remain

Questions people ask before applying

What is the 2026 minimum income?

€2,849 gross per month for the main applicant, plus €1,068.38 for the first family member and €356.13 for every additional family member.

Can I apply from Spain?

If you are legally in Spain, you may apply directly for the residence authorisation through the Large Companies and Strategic Groups Unit (UGE).

How long can permission last?

The consular visa can be valid for up to one year. The residence authorisation can be granted for up to three years and renewed in two-year periods if the conditions continue.
